DE KIJK-, LEES-, EN LUISTERTIP VAN CHRISTINA CALJE

Christina Caljé shares her recommendations for inspiring and informative content with the top publication for entrepreneurs in The Netherlands, ‘De Ondernemer’, in the launch of its series ‘De Kijk, Lees, En Luistertip Van…’ series.

With this series, De Ondernemer collaborates with content curation platform Mohi to jointly present reading / viewing / listening tips from an inspiring (top) entrepreneur each week.

Christina’s top picks (in English):

‘Watch’: Maasdamme Collection
Amsterdam Museum launched The Maasdamme Collection on October 16, an exhibition of dioramas by Rita Maasdamme (1944–2016) visualizing the histories of former Dutch colonies from the unique perspective of enslaved people, Maroons, and the Indigenous population. As my father is from Suriname, this aspect of Dutch colonial history has a special relevance that I want to learn more about. And, with storytelling through dolls and dioramas, I am hoping my 2 children will enjoy it as much as I will!

‘Read’: Odin blogpost
Patrick Ryan, Co-founder of UK-based community syndicate platform Odin, recently wrote a widely shared blog post with a thesis on why the standard Venture Capital strategy of 15-25 deals per portfolio is wrong. He provides a compelling argument, backed with data. There are a lot of bold arguments, for instance, why investors should target a 150-300 deal portfolio. It makes a very interesting read for me as an angel investor in early stage tech startups, but also for anyone interested in better understanding the economics of venture capital and startup investing.

'Listen': 'Pivot' podcast
Pivot is my go-to podcast for the biggest stories in tech, business and politics, not only for the content and perspective, but also for the witty banter between its co-hosts Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway.
