Summit for Accountability in the Digital Age

Christina Caljé joined members of Unesco, UNICRI and the Council of Europe as a speaker at the Hague Summit for Accountability in the Digital Age, tackling the timely and complex topic of how to ensure accountability in AI-based systems..

The purpose of this two-day conference was to bring together a global multi-stakeholder community from national and local governments, international policymakers, civil society, NGOs, the ICT industry and platforms, as well as other relevant Organizations and institutes.

The delegates’ conclusions and recommendations will contribute to shaping a global path towards a responsible policy. A summary of the Summit was formulated as a vision paper on Accountability in the Digital Age, with contributions from various speakers of the 2019 Summit. Panel on Accountability & Artificial Intelligence (full)

Organized by the Institute for Accountability in the Digital Age at the Peace Palace on 7 November, Christina Caljé spoke on the panel sub-theme ‘Accountability in AI’, alongside policy makers such as Council of Europe, UNICRI, UNESCO, and industry experts such as futurist Stephen Ibaraki.

During this talk, the experts tackled the timely and complex topic of how to ensure accountability in AI-based systems.
